Most of Shortcut’s keyboard language is typed, not held: G then D goes home, G then S opens Stories, N then E then P creates an Epic. The table writes these with commas to keep them apart from held chords like Ctrl + K. The payoff of sequences is headroom — three-key routes like G, S, E for Settings exist without colliding with anything — and the Power Bar on Ctrl + K lists them all if one slips your mind.
Shortcut reuses letters by context, and knowing the three rooms prevents most confusion. Globally, F is fullscreen and Shift + S saves Space changes on the Stories page. Open a Story dialog and the meanings shift: F follows the Story, Shift + S changes its workflow state, I toggles you as owner, E edits the description, C jumps to comments. The dialog is where keyboard use pays off most — triaging a Story without touching the mouse is genuinely faster than any board interaction.
Two shortcuts encode Shortcut’s development loop. Ctrl + Shift + , copies the Story’s branch name for your terminal; Ctrl + Shift + . copies it and moves the Story to Started in one stroke — the comma-then-period pairing is easy to remember as “copy, then commit to it”. Deletion is deliberately two-staged: Shift + A archives, and only an archived Story answers to Shift + D.
Press the keys one after another, not together: G then D goes to My Work, N then I creates an Iteration. This page writes them with commas (G, D) to distinguish them from held chords like Ctrl + K.
The command palette on Ctrl + K. It navigates, creates work items and runs actions, and it displays the keyboard sequences next to each command — the built-in way to learn this table.
Ctrl + Shift + , copies the branch name. Ctrl + Shift + . copies it and moves the Story to Started at the same time.
Context. Globally F toggles fullscreen; inside an open Story dialog it follows or unfollows that Story. Shift + S splits the same way: Space changes on the Stories page, workflow state inside a dialog.
Archive first with Shift + A, then delete the archived Story with Shift + D. The two-step order is intentional — unarchived Stories cannot be keyboard-deleted.
Press D then a number: 1 for title-only, 2 for minimal, 3 for standard, 4 for jumbo.
